My TATA AIG car insurance policy has expired – How do I renew it without any delay?
If your car insurance policy has lapsed, renewing it without getting an inspection done is not possible. Without any ado, make sure you place your request for inspection and renewal by calling on their toll-free number. This must be done within 90 days from the date on which the policy has expired.
Can I request for a change in the IDV of my vehicle insured by TATA AIG?
Of course you can! Just call on their toll-free number 1800-266-7780 and place your request. Do keep in mind that insured declared value of the vehicle can be altered according to the terms and conditions of the company and only during the time of renewal.
How long should I wait for a claim settlement?
To proceed with claims in TATA AIG, you must either intimate the company by calling on their toll-free number 1800-266-7780 or SMS ‘CLAIMS’ to 5616181. You might as well receive a call back in an hour.

Alternatively, you can visit and register on IPO (available on website/Download IPO app on your smart phone) by providing personal details, link your policy and register your claim under "Claims" tab
WHAT IS THE CLAIM PROCESS?
If your vehicle can be driven, take it to the nearest dealer / garage.
Get a repair estimate, fill up the claim form and attach a copy of the registration certificate and driving license of the person driving at the time of the accident.
If the garage is within our network, you could avail of cashless claim facility. Pay for non accident related repairs, depreciation and deductible. We would settle the rest.
If the garage is outside our network, you would have to get the claim reimbursed subsequently.

How is the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of my vehicle decided and how does it impact my coverage?
The Insured’s Declared Value (IDV) of the vehicle will be deemed to be the ‘Sum Insured’ and it will be fixed at the commencement of each policy period for each insured vehicle. The IDV of the vehicle (and accessories if any fitted to the vehicle) is to be fixed on the basis of the manufacturer’s listed selling price of the brand and model of the insured vehicle at the start of the insurance or renewal. The IDV would subsequently change according to the depreciation grid below for each one year block within the policy period for the insured vehicle. All ages of vehicles, provided they have a valid fitness certificate as required by law, will be covered by the aforementioned product.
